Katseye makes Coachella debut sans Manon
Katseye just made their debut in Coachella!
On Saturday morning (Philippine time), Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Yoonchae, and Megan graced the Sahara Desert stage of the world’s biggest music festival in their vibrant and colorful Y2K-inspired two-piece ensemble.
Manon, who is currently on hiatus, did not join the performance.
Katseye opened their Coachella debut with their comeback song “Pinky Up.”
They also performed “Debut,” “Mean Girls” and “Touch.”
Aside from their solo performance, Katseye surprised the crowd when they brought Huntrix members, composed of Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, on stage and sang their hit song “Golden.”
Huntrix is a fictional three-member K-pop girl group and the main protagonists of the Netflix animated series “KPop Demon Hunters.”
Only five members of KATSEYE took the stage at Coachella, as Manon is currently on hiatus.
Earlier this month, Manon removed Katseye from her Instagram bio but said she remains in positive communication with Hybe and Geffen.
“HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me,” she said.
She went on hiatus in February.
Meanwhile, Nation’s Girl Group BINI also took the center stage of Coachella’s Mojave stage, making history as the first Filipino act to perform in the music festival. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
