BTS made a roaring comeback with "Arirang" after a nearly four-year hiatus, and one of the tracks they've been giving a major push is "2.0."

The rap-heavy song introduces the new BTS, with lyrics like "We on that brand new" and "2.0 when the update's through," but it also comes across as a warning that they're going to "stir things up here and there again."

"Had your little fun, fella?" BTS sings in the chorus. "Came back for what's mine."

In an interview with Rolling Stone, BTS leader RM said that aside from the main message, it's also a song for the haters.

"There are really people who just pray with a bottle of water in their home... just, 'Please, BTS just go fall down. Please BTS just break apart and collapse,'" he said.

"And we're just thinking... okay guys, for two, three years, we have been apart, to [go to] the military, and there are ARMYs waiting for us, the world is waiting for us." Referencing the song, RM continued, "So you guys had your little fun. Knock, knock, pew pew, bye."

V shared that J-Hope came up with the keyword "2.0," and they thought it was cool so they ran with it.

J-Hope said, "I think the song '2.0' turned out really fun. And our performance is more laid back than our previous incarnations of BTS, so it matched that vibe."

"2.0" is the fifth track in "Arirang." It was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, with BTS members contributing to composition and lyrics.

BTS released "Arirang" in March and it has since earned the South Korean supergroup new career highs and records.

They kicked off the Arirang World Tour earlier this month. They are set to visit the Philippines in 2027. —JCB, GMA News
