AMAs 2026: How to vote for your favorite artists

The American Music Awards season is here!

Fans have the power to give their favorite nominated artists the awards they deserve, and there's quite some big names up there.

TikTok famous singers Sombr, Olivia Dean, and Katseye just picked up their first-ever AMA nominations. "KPop Demon Hunters" singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami also stand to win their first AMA.

Globally famous stars like Taylor Swift, BTS, and Sabrina Carpenter are also up for awards. Notably, BTS got nominated for Artist of the Year barely four weeks after their return to music.

Aside from BTS, there's a slew of other K-pop acts nominated for K-pop categories: Ateez, Enhypen, Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together, Blackpink, ILLIT, Le Sserafim and Twice. 

How to vote

There are two ways to cast votes: on the American Music Awards website and via Instagram comment voting.

For the website voting, open your browser to vote.theamas.com. You can then view the awards to vote for. You can vote for a nominee by clicking the + or – buttons to allocate the number of votes you wish to give, and then click “vote.” You will then be notified of the number of votes remaining.

Fans need to have a valid Facebook or Google account to vote, as they are required to sign in before voting.

For Instagram comment voting, you can vote by adding specific hashtags in a comment on the official voting posts from the AMAs Instagram account.

To vote, you must have a valid Instagram account set to public. Comments from private accounts will not be counted.

The hashtag will include the nominees and the awards you are voting for. Examples of a valid Instagram comment vote would be: “I’m voting for #aotybadbunny” or “I’m voting for #popsongmanchild.”

Only comments on the official voting posts will be counted. If more than one nominee or award hashtag is in a comment, this will be considered invalid.

For both the website and Instagram comment voting, fans may submit up to 30 votes per award per day during the voting period on each voting platform. 

The voting period for all awards will open on April 14, 8 p.m. Philippine time, and will close on May 8 at 2:59 a.m. The voting period for Social Song of the Year and Tour of the Year will close on May 25 at 8:30 a.m. —JCB, GMA News
