Who is Quinn? 'The Boys' introduces link to Soldier Boy's past

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

In the latest episode of "The Boys" Season 5, a mysterious and disturbing character was introduced: Quinn, a grotesque supe with a connection to Soldier Boy.

While Quinn's appearance was brief, he left major questions in his wake. Exactly who is Quinn?

A failed experiment

Quinn, played by Kris Hagen, is revealed to be among Vought's earliest experiments in the 1940s. Once a US soldier, he volunteered to be one of the original test subjects administered with V-One alongside Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).

While Soldier Boy emerged as a successful American Supe, Quinn mutated into a human-plant hybrid that was left behind in the secret facility, Fort Harmony.

By the time Quinn shows up in Season 5, Episode 4, he has been fused into the walls of the facility for over 80 years.

On top of his plant-related powers, he has the ability to induce feelings of hatred and resentment through his spores, triggering violence.

What's the connection with Soldier Boy?

Despite undergoing experimentation together, Soldier Boy claims the two hated each other. Soldier Boy was injected with V-One first, and his success story invoked jealousy and resentment in Quinn.

However, some viewers speculate that the two were brothers. The episode delves into Soldier Boy's past, revealing that he had a brother in the military. To others, however, the theory is too shallow and easy.

Whether or not they're related, Soldier Boy's reaction to killing Quinn makes it obvious he cared about this relic from his past.

"The Boys," created by Eric Kripke, premiered on Prime Video in 2019. It is set to conclude with its fifth season. —JCB, GMA News
