Cup of Joe's 'Multo' is nominated for Best Song Asia in the 2nd Music Awards Japan

It looks like it is OPM's time in the global stage.

Cup of Joe's "Multo" has secured a nomination for Best Song Asia in the 2nd Music Awards Japan.

The massive OPM hit will face tough competition in the category, going up against Indonesia's "Table Bale" by Silent Open Up, and three songs from South Korea, namely Dash" by virtual boy band Plave, "Drowning" by singer/songwriter/rapper Woodz and "Golden" by Hunter/X from "K-Pop Demon Hunters."

Winners will be announced in a ceremony on June 13.

On its second year, Music Awards Japan is Japan’s premier international music awards platform, established in 2025. The initiative is led by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), a collaboration among Japan’s five major music industry bodies aimed at fostering global exchange and elevating Asian music worldwide.

According to a press statement, the selection of "Multo" as a nominee for Best Song Asia followed an intense selection process featuring two other OPM acts, Dionela and his song "Marilag" and Earl Agustin and his hit "Tibok."

Best Song Asia is among its six major categories, which also includes Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.

"Multo" is the most streamed song of 2025 on Spotify Philippines, with Cup of Joe the most streamed artist of the year.

Also named Billboard Philippines' no.1 artist of 2025, Cup of Joe is fresh off their successful US Tour.

They have just released a new EP, "Sandali." — LA, GMA News
