Anna Kendrick to direct 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' film adaptation

Anna Kendrick's next directing project is the upcoming film adaptation of "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo!"

The "Pitch Perfect" star will be helming the project for Netflix, the streaming giant confirmed in its blog Tudum.

Author Taylor Jenkins Reid will executive produce the adaptation, while the script will be written by Liz Tigelaar.

Reid's best-selling historical drama novel follows fictional Old Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo who, in her final interview, talks about her seven marriages and a forbidden love.

"With Kendrick signing on to direct, 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' is getting ready to enter production — stay tuned for more," Netflix's Tudum said.

Kendrick previously directed the Netflix true-crime thriller "Woman of the Hour" (2023).

The actress famously plays Beca in the hit "Pitch Perfect" movies. —JCB, GMA News
