'The Boroughs' cancelled by Netflix after one season

"The Boroughs," the Duffer Brothers' new sci-fi show, is no longer getting a continuation.

According to Deadline, Netflix has cancelled the show after it debuted with soft ratings last month, garnering 5.6 million views in its opening weekend.

"The Boroughs" centers on a retirement community that must fight against an otherwordly threat.

The show was executive produced by the Duffer Brothers, the minds behind the successful "Stranger Things."

The Duffer Brothers also executive produced the horror mini series, "Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen." —JCB, GMA News
