'Clueless' sequel series starring Alicia Silverstone moving forward at Paramount+

Alicia Silverstone is bringing back iconic Cher for a sequel series!

According to Variety, Paramount+ greenlit the project, which was previously scrapped by Peacock.

Paramount+ reportedly ordered six episodes, with production set for 2027 in Los Angeles.

"'Clueless' is coming home," Jane Wiseman, head of Originals for Paramount+, was quoted as saying.

"We’re especially proud to be filming this much-anticipated series in Los Angeles, honoring its starring role in the original film while investing in the city’s exceptional talent and crews."

The synopsis remains the same: In the present day, Cher Horowitz is successful in both her business and family life. When her daughter reaches high school, she finds that parenting a teenager makes her feel "clueless" all over again.

The new series is written and executive produced by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Jordan Weiss, Variety reported. Silverstone has also been named as an executive producer, along with director Amy Heckerling and producer Robert Lawrence.

"Clueless" is a 1995 film that follows Cher Horowitz as she navigates friendship and romance in high school.
