The first official trailer for “Verity” has dropped, promising a full-on eerie psychological thriller.

In the two-minute-and-thirty-second trailer, Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota) discovers Verity Crawford’s (Anne) autobiography draft, in which she receives a warning.

“A writer's words should be honest, bloody, and a little bit terrifying,” Verity said. “This is your final warning. Only darkness ahead.”

In the previous teaser, Lowen could be seen getting entangled with Verity’s husband, Jeremy Crawford (Josh Hartnett). As their relationship unfolds, Lowen appears to be haunted by Verity.

The film is set for a theatrical release on October 2. However, its Philippine release date is yet to be announced.

Released in 2018, the novel “Verity” follows the story of a struggling writer, Lowen, who accepted a job offer from Jeremy, the husband of bestselling author Verity, to finish the remaining books of a successful series.

In August 2024, Colleen Hoover’s movie adaptation of “It Ends With Us” was released in Philippine cinemas. It starred Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. —Hermes Joy Tunac/JCB, GMA News
