Nicholas Hoult is Gilderoy Lockhart in upcoming 'Harry Potter' series
Nicholas Hoult has joined the cast of the upcoming “Harry Potter” series, playing Gilderoy Lockhart in the show's second season.
According to Deadline, Nicholas will portray the vain and fame-obsessed wizard who becomes Hogwarts’ Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, played by Kenneth Branagh in the 2002 film adaptation.
The second season is set to begin filming after the first season, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,” premieres on Christmas.
Nicholas is best known for playing Lex Luthor in “Superman,” as well as roles in “The Great,” “The Menu,” and “Nosferatu.”
“Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” stars Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout.
