Ben&Ben releases surprise track 'Baybayin'
Surprise Liwanag, Ben&Ben has a new song!
The folk-pop band revealed on Instagram that they just released the new track "Baybayin," a reimagined version of their 2018 song “Balik-Balikan.”
“This song has a deep meaning for us, and this song is a gift for you, Liwanag. Especially those who have been with us for a long time,” the band said.
“The lyrics of this song are the literal life story of Ben&Ben, and we all sing here,” they added.
Ben&Ben shared that they went on a retreat to reminisce on their nine-year journey as a band.
“For three days, we laughed, cried, and had heart-to-hearts about deep topics,” the band said.
They also looked back on how so much has changed since they started as fresh college graduates with big dreams, to getting married, and even having kids.
“Our dream of staying as nine forever won’t come true. But what’s important is, even though our journey as a band will continue, we are so grateful for the time to reflect and say a proper goodbye to Jam,” they said.
The band said they reflected on their memories together and turned it into a song, which eventually became “Baybayin.” It is also a reminder for Liwanag to remember their friends and say how important they are to them.
Ben&Ben's last release was "Duyan," which dropped in January. It came with a romantic music video starring real-life Kapuso couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos.
Recently, they have been releasing reimagined versions of their songs like “Lifetime” and “Autumn.”
Ben&Ben will be having a concert titled “Saranggola” on October 2 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
