Fashion forecasts for 2018
"2018 is a chance for us to be experimental and adventurous sa trends," fashion stylist Trish Ramos said in an interview on Unang Hirit Tuesday.
Ramos gave her fashion forecast for 2018, which includes athleisure, bigger stripes, bolder prints, and wearing ultraviolet, which is the color of the year.
Below, we list them down for your convenience:
1. Bigger and bolder patterns. It started in 2017 but bigger stripes and bolder prints will soldier on in 2018.
"Ang mauuso this 2018 is siyempre yung mga prints natin. We're going to go a little bolder, mas bright ang prints natin, mas malalaki, but at the same time magagamit pa rin natin 'yung nauso rin last year para di naman masayang 'diba?
2. Casual flexibility. For 2018, think of your casual wear as a canvas you can dress up or down. Ramos highlights casual things — like a striped polo, for instance — "na puwede ring maging formal."
3. Athleisure is here to stay another year. Athleisure isn't going anywhere. It will continue to trend this year for both men and women, so keep your jogger pants, plain shirts, comfy sweaters and sneakers.
4. Ditch millennial pink. Lay it easy on the pink and go instead for ultraviolets. Ramos said the color of the year will make its mark for 2018.
"Ang nakakatuwa sa color of the year is hindi tayo kailangan maging obvious na ultraviolet. Puwede tayo kumuha ng hints of color for that," she said.
5. Mad for plaid. Bring out your plaids because it's so back. "Ang nakakatuwa sa plaid trend is hindi lang natin siya mahahanap sa mga usual stores. Makikita natin ito sa ukay-ukay," Ramos continues.
And if they don't match? Not to worry, because according to Ramos, being adventurous in your OOTDs is the most in thing for 2018. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
