There’s more to the funky blazer that Cat’s BF Clint Bondad wore at the Miss Universe coronation night

Much like his girlfriend’s outfits during the Miss Universe competition, Clint Bondad’s outfit at the Miss Universe coronation held much meaning.

The Filipino-German model – and Catriona Gray’s boyfriend of six years – wore an all-black ensemble, accentuated only with a black blazer imprinted with red roses.

It raised a few curious eyebrows.

@catriona_gray you have the whole arena behind you ?? Go get it! Since the very day I met you in Baguio in that tiny elevator when we merly were just kids I knew that you are different. You felt untouchable. Like I met someone specific but couldn't figure out who it was. Never met a more intelligent woman in my life. You seem to capture the stars and are simply a creator by heart. You are a specialist made to move the world. A rocket breaking through the atmosphere bringing back a piece of heaven. Words will never be enough to capture who you are... I know this is a huge day but this will literally just be the beginning. Special thanks to @jhay.layson for the amazing outfit ????????????

On ”Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” Sunday, we learned that Clint had planned his outfit to match Catriona’s winning red gown.

The red gown, which we all know by now, was inspired by two things: The Mayon Volcano and her mother’s dream.

Clint’s OOTD was styled by Jhay Layson, who on his Instagram posted a side-by-side photo of the handsome lovers.

According to Clint, he hasn't seen Catriona since she became Miss Universe.

“You have to understand, there were other nations [in Bangkok] involved, so security is very important,” he told GMA News Online.

And despite the impending long-distance setup they will have to live through in the next year, Clint isn’t one bit worried.

“We’ve been doing this long distance thing since before so it’s nothing new. The only new part is the whole Miss Universe part. The public part is new,” he told GMA News Online.

Meanwhile, in her interview with former Ilocos Governor Luis ‘Chavit’ Singson, Jessica Soho learned that Miss Universe 2019 will be held in South Korea.

According to the politician, who will be financing the event, 2019 will be a landmark year for the beauty pageant because North Korea will join the competition for the very first time.

For sure the Filipinos, led by Miss Universe 2018, will still be raising the flag then. — LA, GMA News
