Havaianas finally opens flagship store in BGC

About time! After being in the Philippines since 2003, Havaianas is finally opening its flagship store, the first in the Philippines.

The 150-sqm BGC store features design elements from both Brazil and the Philippines, a nod to its home country and the country that has welcomed and embraced the brand for 16 years now.

The famous Copacobana pattern greets guests as soon as they enter the store. At the back is a beach hut, reminiscent of our nipa hut, where guests can customize their pairs.

Yes, where customization used to just be an annual pop-up event, it is now a regular feature in the store.

At any given time, the Havaianas store will have about 100 to 150 designs. Non-flip flip merch like bags and scarves are also available. “We will also have sunglasses in they near future,” adds Timothy Dueñas, retail marketing manager of Havaianas.

The store has a few sustainability efforts, giving modest — but valuable — discounts to patrons who bring their own shopping bags.

For those who may have forgotten to bring their own bags, Havaianas has a more sustainable alternative to paper bag packaging: craft paper, which could also be customized.

The Philippine store is among the first three Havanianas stores to open in Southeast Asia, alongside Indonesia and Thailand.

According to Dueñas, Havaianas is planning to open about five to ten more stores in the next six months.

The flagship store opens to the public at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28.

On Saturday it opens at 9 a.m. with special offers to the first 100 guests.

The Havaianas flagship store is at B6, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
