Here are some 2020 hair trends for that New Year, New Look

Nothing says "new year, new me" like a new hair style.

"Unang Hirit" invited hair stylist Mark Rosales to walk us through different types of cuts and hairstyles that are all the rage right now.

But first, he's asked to explain why it's important for so many Filipinos to sport new looks as they start the new year.

"Its a tradition," Rosales says. "All of us always want to bring out the best versions of ourselves and, pag nakita nating we look good, we feel good."

So here are some of the hottest hair trends that can help spruce up your 2020:

'All about frame'

According to Rosales, haircuts nowadays lean towards the framing of the face.

Thus, for girls, he recommends the "jawline bob" which requires no layering and little maintenance. It also gives emphasis on your neck and makes the soft-curled "I woke up like this look" easy to do.

For those of you who are feeling the retro 70's vibe, consider trying some trendly "window bangs." A thin fringe gives you this dramatic change in your look which is also super-low maintenance.

Hair Color of the Year?

Girls, say goodbye to that K-pop-inspired "milktea" hair trend and say hello to "coffee hair."

For those who are worried about having to maintain your roots, fear not! Rosales says untouched roots are totally in, which means you can live life comfortably without having to go to the salon touch-ups every so often.

2020 is also the year to sport some young and vibrant blue locks! (It is the color of the year, after all.)

For boys

Emphasis on fades, lines and angles are really hot right now.

According to Rosales, professionals who want to add a bit of style to their corporate lives can try very clean-looking "low faded with brush top" haircut.

Meanwhile, those who want to play it up even more can go bold with the "faded shaving cut" where a prominent line really give you that perfect angle.

Have a prosperous (and sylish) year, mga Kapuso!
