The stylish PPE suits of Philippine Airlines' cabin crew designed by Edwin Tan

Philippine Airlines (PAL) showcased the new stylish personal protective equipment (PPE) suits that its cabin crew will wear, amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat. They are designed by Filipino couturier Edwin Tan.

On Facebook, PAL posted photos of their cabin crew in full gear: an all-white PPE with a detail of the PAL's iconic colors blue, yellow and red.

"Our cabin crew in personal protective gears. Designed by Filipino couturier Edwin Tan, the protective suits have the "fit and function" that will allow cabin crew to perform their duties," PAL wrote in the caption.

In the Facebook post, Edwin said "the detail is a subtle branding for PAL. We didn’t have time to print or embroider so we came up with the idea of mimicking or reworking the ‘flag’ logo of PAL."

Edwin used "a non-porous material for the PPEs, a material substantial weight to give it a better fall than generic PPEs."

PAL said the cabin crew uniform for flights during the COVID-19 threat "season" will showcase various looks designs and colors.

"Eventually, a single, branded 'look' will fill up our flights this 'Season'. Stay tuned!" PAL wrote.

PAL is operating special flights in compliance with the extended enhanced community quarantine.

The enhanced community quarantine was implemented by President Rodrigo Duterte on March 17 to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). It has been extended to last until April 30. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
