Uniqlo's 'Evangelion'-themed shirts coming to the Philippines this June

Fans of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" are in for a treat: Uniqlo Philippines is finally rolling out the graphic T-shirt series based on the classic anime.

On Facebook, the Japanese casual apparel brand announced that the "Evangelion"-themed UT shirts are hitting Philippine stores on June 22.

But that's not all: Uniqlo is also launching shirts based on two of the most popular works of Weekly Young Jump in time for the publication's 40th anniversary on June 29.

The same day, shirts inspired by girl's comic "Ribon" are also hitting Philippine stores.

The "Evangelion" T-shirt line launched in Japan back in April.

"Neon Genesis Evangelion" is an anime show based on the manga by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. The manga was first published in 1994, and it was adapted into an anime in 1995.

Set in post-apocalyptic Japan, the story follows teenage boy Shinji, who was recruited to pilot a giant machine called an Evangelion to combat the alien monsters they call Angels.
