Shiseido to release new Sailor Moon-inspired makeup collection

Shiseido is dropping a new line of limited-edition makeup inspired by the pretty transformation guardian herself, Sailor Moon.

The Japanese cosmetics brand just announced the news on social media, saying the collaboration will be released later this year in conjunction with the upcoming "Sailor Moon Eternal" movie.

Shiseido's sparkly new "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" makeup collection includes two foundation products in fluid and powder form called "A Dramatic Skin Sensor Base UV" and the "Dramatic Powdery UV."

The Sailor Moon Twitter account said the collab is set to drop September 21 under Shiseido’s MAQuillAGE brand.

"Sailor Moon" is an iconic anime series about a teenage girl who fulfills her destiny as a legendary warrior who protects the universe from forces of evil.

According to comicbook.com, "Sailor Moon Eternal" is a highly-anticipated follow-up to the 2014 "Sailor Moon Crystal" anime series.

It was supposed to hit theaters this September, but reports say the movie release will be delayed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. —Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
