One of Heart Evangelista's favorite bags is a peace offering from her dad

Heart Evangelista showcased some of her favorite bags on her latest vlog on her YouTube Channel.

In the video, the Kapuso Queen of Creative Collaborations said that everything in her closet has a back story.

One of her most memorable and favorite pieces is her first ever Hermes Birkin bag, which was a gift from her father.

"This is the bag that started it all for me. I always wanted an Hermes Birkin and Hermes Kelly ever since I was young because I saw my mom wearing one but my dad never really liked it on me because it looked a little bit older than me," she said.

Heart said that she decided she really wanted an Hermes Birkin when she saw Lindsay Lohan wearing one.

Back when she was 22 or 23 years old, Heart said her dad gave it to her as a gift after a "really, really bad fight."

"We haven't spoken for a really, really long time and when I finally made peace with my family this was the bag that he gave me," she said.

Heart said she found it funny which is why she will never forget about the bag.

She said she thought of painting on it but she said the "memory is too beautiful and too funny" she decided to leave it as is.

Heart also gave a piece of advice to those who are just starting or planning to collect bags.

"It's also nice to pace it a bit, if you're just starting to collect bags. It's nice to take your time because you don't want to be like somebody that buys everything all at the same time, you want each one to have a story," she said. "Like, 'I worked hard for this, I got this when I turned this age.'"

"So again if you are dreaming to have something that's every exquisite or something that's hard to find you know anything is possible," she added.

Heart said aspiring collectors should not settle for a bag that's only similar to what they actually want and instead patiently wait to get the right one.

"If you just stop buying so many other black bags you will eventually get your dream bag. Stop buying dupes you know just save for the real one," she said.

Heart compared getting the right bag to finding the right person for you.

"We all want the bag right now, but it's just that you're settling and you don't want to settle when it comes to your lovelife... so you just have to wait for the right one and you save up for it," she said. —Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
