#MetGala2021: Billie Eilish pays homage to Marilyn Monroe

Billie Eilish just channelled her inner-Marilyn Monroe at the 2021 Met Gala.

The "Happier than Ever" star showed up in an ethereal Oscar dela Renta creation made of an Old Hollywood-inspired bodice which cascades into a blush ombré skirt and train.

According to Vogue, Billie's look paid homage to one of the country's most revered silver screen legends, Marilyn Monroe.

Billie was also selected to be co-chair of this year's Met Gala themed "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," along with Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka and Amanda Gorman.

"Thank you Oscar de la Renta for designing this BEAUTIFUL dress and bringing my ideas and vision to life," Billie wrote in an Instagram post, tagging the designer.

The multi-Grammy award winning singer-songwriter also thanked him for the chance to wear their "sustainable" creation as the iconic fashion house has pledged that it will no longer be using fur in its products.

"It was an honor to wear this dress knowing that going forward, Oscar de la Renta will be completely fur-free!!!!" Billie said.

"I am beyond thrilled that @fernandogarciam1205 and @tokibunbun and the entire team heard me on this issue, and have now made a change that makes an impact for the greater good, not only for animals but also for our planet and environment too," she added.

"I’m honored to have been a catalyst and to have been heard on this matter. i urge all designers to do the same."
