Sofia Jirau is Victoria’s Secret’s first model with Down syndrome: ‘A dream come true’


Sofia Jirau just made history as Victoria’s Secret’s first model with Down syndrome.

The Puerto Rican model shared the announcement on Instagram with a photo of herself for the brand’s “Love Cloud Collection.”

“One day I dreamed it, worked for it, and today it’s a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret. I am Victoria’s Secret’s first model with Down syndrome!” she wrote, as translated by Instagram.

“This is just the beginning,” she added. “Inside and out, there are no limits!”

In a press release, Victoria’s Secret said the “Love Cloud Collection” aimed to celebrate all women in the form of 18 “dynamic” ones, including Sofia.

Among those who are also part of the campaign are Hailey Bieber, Paloma Elsesser, Sabina Karlsson, Taylor Hill, Valentina Sampaio, Miriam Blanco, and Imaan Hammam.
