Japanese watch brand opens first and only store worldwide in the Philippines

Japanese watch brand Orient Star just unveiled its flagship store in the Philippines at the Mitsukoshi mall in Bonifacio Global City. This is the first brick-and-mortar shop of the brand worldwide.

The grand opening held on Thursday was attended by Japanese executives and Filipino brand enthusiasts, including Vince Velasco, Sam Adjani, and Will Devaughn, among others.

Located on the ground floor of the Japanese-inspired mall, Orient Star's boutique showcases high-quality timepieces at affordable prices, highlighting Japanese craftsmanship.

"Our Japanese artisans have masterfully crafted the mechanical watches to endure over time," Naoto Ueda, deputy COO of Wearable Products Operations Division of Seiko EPSON, said in a press release.

"We also can't imagine a better place to open the first Orient Star boutique than Mitsukoshi BGC," he added.

Mitsukoshi mall opened in the Philippines in 2022, housing a variety of well-loved Japanese brands, including Mendokoro Ramenba, Lexus, Gashapon Bandai, and more.
