Zendaya, Lana del Rey, other best dressed at Met Gala 2024

Zendaya, Lana del Rey, other best dressed at Met Gala 2024

The first Monday of May is here, which means it’s time for the much-anticipated annual Met Gala!

This year, the exhibition’s theme is “The Garden of Time,” spearheaded by Vogue’s Anna Wintour and co-chairs Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lopez.

Without further ado, here are some of GMA News Online’s favorite looks at this year’s Oscars of the fashion world.

Zendaya

When Zendaya walks in, everybody watches. For this year, the “Euphoria” actress presented two looks for the night. The opening piece was a tantalizing Margiela ensemble by John Galliano. Her second look was a Givenchy Spring 1996 couture gown, paired with an Alexander McQueen flower bouquet headpiece by Philip Treacy.

Lana Del Ray

Lana Del Ray’s return to the Met Gala after six years was nothing short of major. She interpreted this year’s theme with equal parts ethereal and dark romantic look with a custom Alexander McQueen by Seán McGirr.

Demi Moore

You asked for a fashion reawakening, and Demi Moore delivered. The 61-year-old actress donned a structural gown by Harris Reed, featuring a pink-and-white floral design gown with a structural heart-shaped back piece with spiky elements.

Tyla

Make me “Water”? More like make me sandy! Tyla debuted at this year’s Met Gala with a Balmain gown comparable to a sand sculpture. Her look came with an hourglass clutch, which was a play on this year’s theme “The Garden of Time.”

Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning looked like a real life princess at this year’s Met Gala in her glassy-esque transparent gown by Balmain, featuring a figure-hugging bodice and a flowy skirt. She complemented her outfit with a glass skin makeup look, with just a little bit of color on her cheeks and lips.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraiser for the museum’s costume institute and is also the opening of its annual fashion exhibition. —Hermes Tunac/JCB, GMA Integrated News
