R'Bonney Gabriel shares the special meaning behind her gowns for Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night

R’Bonney Gabriel pulled out all the stops for the coronation night of the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 on Wednesday.

On Instagram, the Filipino-American beauty queen, who holds the title of Miss Universe 2022, shared the meaning behind her gorgeous and unique gowns.

The first one, a yellow rose inspired gown designed by Filipino fashion designer Larry Espinosa, was a “love letter” dedicated to her beloved hometown Texas. She said it represents her beginnings and that she'll "never forget where she started."

The second one, a pink piece notable for its wavy design, was a love letter to her Filipino father. It was created by Ehrran Montoya.

"[My father] fought many obstacles to pave a way for the life, family, and career he wanted in the states. He taught me that storms in life can be our greatest teacher if we know how to find the beauty in them."

The third gown by Larry Espinosa was dedicated to R'Bonney's mother. She said it "embodies her modest upbringing, with rhinestone flowers for her tough but delicate nature."

R’Bonney returned to the Philippines in April to host the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night, held on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. R’Bonney hosted the event alongside Alden Richards, Gabbi Garcia, Tim Yap, and American TV presenter Jeannie Mai.

Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan was crowned the new Miss Universe Philippines by Michelle Dee. She will represent the Philippines at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in Mexico.

Alexie Brooks of Iloilo is Miss Eco International Philippines 2025, Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province is Miss Cosmo Philippines 2024, Tarah Valencia of Baguio is Miss Supranational Philippines 2025, and Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga is Miss Charm Philippines 2025. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
