Michelle Dee says choice to wear her Miss Universe evening gown for final walk was a 'no-brainer'

Michelle Dee says it was a ‘no-brainer’ to wear her Miss Universe evening gown for final walk

Michelle Dee once again wore her Miss Universe 2023 evening gown for her final walk at the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night, and she explained why.

On Instagram, the Kapuso actress and beauty queen said that she wanted to give the gown its own segment.

“It was a no-brainer for me to wear it (for the last time) during my final walk,” she said.

She added that wearing the evening gown again for one last time is a way to pay tribute to her pageant journey and to thank everybody for their support.

“Wearing it again felt like I was also giving homage to every story, every drop of sweat, and every ounce of effort that all of you did to create such a transformational force to the universe and I have to reiterate that my success that came after is all of ours to share,” Michelle said.

“Thank you for allowing me to represent us with so much pride in our hearts and know that whenever you need me, I’ll be right here waiting for your call," she added.

The gown in question is an Apo Whang Od-inspired piece by Mark Bumgarner.

Michelle crowned her successor Chelsea Manalo, a beauty queen from Bulacan, as the new Miss Universe Philippines on Wednesday. Chelsea will compete at the upcoming international pageant in Mexico.

Aside from Chelsea, more newly crowned queens are: Alexie Brooks of Iloilo is Miss Eco International Philippines 2025, Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province is Miss Cosmo Philippines 2024, Tarah Valencia of Baguio is Miss Supranational Philippines 2025, and Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga is Miss Charm Philippines 2025.
