Met Gala 2025: Zendaya, Rihanna, more on-theme celebrities on the red carpet

The first Monday of May is here, which means select celebrities from around the world gather at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the Met Gala.

The 2025 edition of the annual fundraising event focuses on the theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" with a dress code dubbed "Tailored for You." Think structure, dandyism, and, most importantly, elegance.

In a Vogue red carpet interview, Met Gala co-chair and guest list curator Anna Wintour said this year's gathering is an ode to the Black community's creativity, the same way it's celebrating "self-respect, joy, confidence, and liberation."

"I think it's incredibly important to stand next to the black community, and I'm so looking forward to hearing what our visitors have to say," she added.

The Met Gala 2025 is the first in 22 years to focus exclusively on menswear, and Anna said it's high time to showcase this side of fashion.

"I think it [menswear] has become so much more imaginative and creative and risk-taking and fearless and fun, which is what the exhibition is all about," she said.
