Emma Tiglao wears solihiya ensemble made by inmates of BJMP San Fernando City Jail to Miss Grand Int'l closed door interviews

Emma Tiglao is determined to bring Filipino culture straight to Miss Grand International.

Before sitting down for her closed door interviews, the beauty queen from Pampanga handed out boxes of polvoron to the judges to give them a sample of Filipino food.

According to Emma, her mom and sister made the local delicacy while her dad helped personalized them, demonstrating the traditional close ties of Filipino families everywhere.

As though that wasn't enough, the beauty queen from Pampanga wore a white pant suit with matching tube top that featured solihiya pattern.

Solihiya pattern is more popular on furniture, with its sunburst pattern often appearing on chair backrests and as well as on screens. For Emma to wear the pattern definitely gives modern Filipiniana a different and refreshing dimension.

During her interview, Emma highlighted the significance of her outfit. "It's made by persons deprived of liberty," she said.

On Instagram, Emma gave more details about her meaningful ensemble, saying it was "handcrafted by the resident basket weaver inmates of BJMP San Fernando City Jail."

The outfit, designe by Rich Sabinian, "reminds me of the strength, creativity, and resilience that define us as Filipinos," she said.

Emma is currently in Thailand to compete for the Miss Grand International 2025. The coronation event will take place on October 18.
