Filipino designer Yto Gonzaga is among the members of the Beyond the Crown Selection committee of this year's Miss Universe pageant.
The Miss Universe Organization announced the official lineup on Instagram, revealing this year’s panel comprises some of the most distinguished leaders and innovators from around the world.
Yto has dressed numerous celebrities and beauty queens, including Michelle Dee, Hannah Arnold, and Jessy Mendiola.
Yto is the only Filipino in the committee, which is comprised of:
- Dr. Juan Manuel Chaparro, plastic surgeon and CEO of Bloom Beauty and Clinic, and Bebybloom art gallery
- Fausto Altamirano, Ecuadorian artist and CEO of Baccio Couture
- Marita Astete, Peruvian gastronomic entrepreneur and founder of Aromas del Peru and Mayu
- Yakay Yanay, CEO of Pluri and a leading figure in Israel’s life sciences sector
- Camille Monasterio, founder of 4Beauty Medspa & Wellness
- Anna Shiwlall, interior designer and founder of 27 Diamonds
- James Irvin Healy, medical scientist
Beyond the Crown is a platform of the pageant "tailored to become a gateway into understanding the impact the organization has destined since its humble beginnings."
""Beyond the Crown reaches the Miss Universe Organization's commitment to promote ideas of integrity, fairness, and cultural understanding and celebration," it added on the website.
Following a shaky start, this year's competition is heating up with natcos and prelims scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
At the swimsuit competition held last week, Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo strutted the runway with her signature confidence while donning a two-piece green swimsuit by local fashion brand Bench.
Ahtisa is aiming to win the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown. She was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 in May.
Earlier, Ahtisa revealed that Mak Tumang designed her national costume, while Val Taguba worked on her evening gown.
The Miss Universe coronation event is happening on November 21 at the Impact Muong Thong Thani Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
