'Wicked' collaborates with local jewelry brand for limited-edition collection
“Wicked” fans, it’s your time to flex your fangirl and fanboy moments in style!
Penny Pairs, a homegrown jewelry brand, has unveiled its limited-edition collection in collaboration with “Wicked.”
The Wicked x Penny Pairs Collection is a 25-piece jewelry line inspired by the musical-turned-film’s story of enduring friendship, transformation, and the courage to embrace your true self.
Speaking to GMA News Online, Penny Pairs co-founder Camille Jimenez-Sandico said they secured the collaboration by meeting with the Universal Studios team earlier this year.
“It was such a joy to design these pieces, and an honor to bring this collection to life,” she said.
“We’ve been Wicked fans for years, so creating pieces inspired by its story felt incredibly personal,” she added.
The collection features recognizable “Wicked” motifs, such as pink and green gems representing Glinda and Elphaba, and translates them into earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces.
The Wicked x Penny Pairs Collection ranges from P1,999 to P3,999.
In September, Ariana Grande’s makeup brand R.E.M. Beauty also released a collection inspired by “Wicked.”
“Wicked: For Good” is now showing in Philippine cinemas. It picks up after the events in the first act, where Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) goes against the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and aims to expose him as a liar. Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana) warns her that the people of Oz are against her.
