Filipino designer Rik Rasos collaborates with sportswear brand for special collection

Sportswear and lifestyle brand Adidas has launched its first collaboration with a Filipino fashion designer, teaming up with Rik Rasos of the streetwear label Proudrace.

The limited-edition release features a reimagined take on the iconic Jabbar, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s first signature shoe, infused with Proudrace’s distinctive Filipino streetwear aesthetic.

Rik blended the shoe’s clean, classic lines with subtle details inspired by personal memories.

“The warmth of hardwood floors, lace curtains from my lola’s house, even the stamp patch inspired by letters my dad sent while working overseas,” he shared in a press release.

“Each element carries the weight of home and growing up Filipino.”

Aside from the Proudrace Jabbar shoes (P7,000), the collection includes Adidas x Proudrace shirts (P2,900).

While this marks Adidas’ first partnership with a Filipino designer, the brand has previously worked with Filipino artists such as Yeo Kaa, Quiccs, Egg Fiasco, and Jappy Agoncillo.

The Adidas x Proudrace is available in select physical stores and online.
