Chelsea Fernandez dons Sarimanok-inspired national costume at Miss Cosmo 2025

Chelsea Fernandez is showcasing a high-fashion interpretation of the Sarimanok, a mythical bird from Maranao folklore that symbolizes “prosperity, guidance, and spiritual strength,” as her national costume at Miss Cosmo 2025.

On Instagram, the beauty queen from Sultan Kudarat shared a closer look at her outfit designed by Er Stephen Alvarado. The costume features a gold sculpted bodysuit with vibrant wings and an ornate headpiece.

“This Carnival costume brings Filipino Muslim heritage to life through vibrant rainbow plumage, gold accents, and intricate okir patterns,” Chelsea said.

“Aligned with Miss Cosmo’s mission to uplift cultures and empower voices, the design embodies Impactful Beauty by showcasing the Philippines’ rich artistry with purpose and pride,” she added.

Earlier in December, Chelsea was officially sashed ahead of the Miss Cosmo 2025 pageant.

Miss Cosmo 2025, the second edition of the pageant, will be held on December 20 in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, where reigning queen Ketut Permata Juliastrid of Indonesia will crown her successor.

Chelsea previously represented the Philippines in the Miss Globe 2022, where she finished in the Top 15.
