IU dons Filipina-designed gown at 2025 APAN Star Awards

IU was every inch the princess at the 2025 APAN Star Awards as she donned an eye-catching ensemble by Filipina designer Monique Lhuillier.

On Instagram, the South Korean singer and actress shared her look for the prestigious awarding ceremony, where she received the Grand Prize (Daesang) of the 2025 APAN Star Awards for her performance on Netflix’s “When Life Gives You Tangerines.”

Dubbed Monaco, the Monique Lhuillier creation features a sculpted bodice with a full tulle skirt adorned with fiery red roses throughout the gown.

Aside from the Daesang award, “When Life Gives You Tangerines” also won Best Drama of the Year, Best Director, and Best Child Actor.

Netflix first announced the series in January 2024, followed by the official trailer in February.

It follows the love story of a bold girl, Ae Sun (IU), and a devoted boy, Gwan Sik (Park Bo Gum), in Jeju Island as they face a lifelong tale of setbacks and triumphs together.
