Maison Valentino honors Italian founder Valentino Garavani

Valentino Garavani, the legendary Italian fashion designer behind Maison Valentino, has passed away. He was 93.

On Instagram, Maison Valentino paid tribute to its founder.

“The Maison remembers Mr. Valentino Garavani with deep emotion and profound affection,” the statement read. “His unique style and innate elegance will remain forever.

“We share with heartfelt sympathy the grief of his loved ones, and we remain committed to preserving and elevating the valued creative, cultural, and human heritage he entrusted to us, upon which Maison Valentino is founded.”

The Maison also remembered Valentino for his “ceaseless pursuit of beauty,” a pursuit the brand promised to carry on in his memory.

At 93, Valentino died at his Roman residence surrounded by his loved ones, according to the Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti Foundation.

Valentino was ranked along the likes of Giorgio Armani and Karl Lagerfeld as among fashion’s “greatest of all time.”

Lagerfeld passed away in 2019, while Armani died in 2025.
