Glaiza De Castro's custom barong is embellished with husband David Rainey’s love notes
Glaiza De Castro carried her husband David Rainey’s words with her when she was honored at the 2026 Gawad Pilipino Babae Ka Awards.
On Instagram, the Kapuso actress shared the romantic story behind the Daryl Maat-designed, custom barong she wore at the awards night in late March.
According to Glaiza, David has always left her random love notes on random pieces of paper throughout their relationship.
“So, when I found these notes in pad paper, I thought of messaging Daryl to see what he [could] create with them,” she wrote.
“Then here it is, Mga Sulat ni David; a reminder that simple things can bring so much joy,” Glaiza said.
In her post, she thanked the Filipino designer for creating her vision to life.
“And to my mahal, you never fail to surprise me,” she ended.
Glaiza and David tied the knot in October 2021 in Northern Ireland. Two years later, they held a second wedding in Zambales.
Glaiza currently stars in “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.”
