BTS' Jungkook takes on design role in Calvin Klein collection
BTS member Jungkook has expanded his partnership with Calvin Klein with the launch of a limited-edition capsule collection.
The South Korean star collaborated with the brand in bringing a 20-piece lineup that includes menswear and womenswear pieces inspired by Calvin Klein’s classic silhouettes, featuring denim sets, graphic shirts, oversized sweatshirts, and outerwear.
Jungkook shared in a YouTube video that he approached the collaboration by respecting the brand’s established identity while introducing touches of his own style.
“Calvin Klein has that 90s vibe. It’s already so nice. I felt like I shouldn’t really touch it. So I thought, ‘What if I added a bit of my own style?’ I think that’s where it started,” he said.
He also compared the creative process behind the collection to making music, noting how hands-on the experience became.
“It reminded me of a lot of working on an album or making a song. Starting from the fabric, adjusting the fit, and talking through the details of the clothes. I realized how much time goes into making just one piece. It was a really meaningful and enjoyable experience.”
Jungkook was revealed as a Calvin Klein global ambassador in 2023.
BTS, also composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V, is currently on their "Arirang" World Tour. It kicked off in April in South Korea, following the release of their comeback album "Arirang" last March. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA News
