Miss Supranational 2026: A closer look at Katrina Llegado's gumamela-inspired national costume

Katrina Llegado took to Instagram to share a closer look at her national costume for Miss Supranational 2026.

Drawing inspiration from gumamela, the Filipina beauty queen said that national costume carries resilience, strength and beauty.

“I’m honored to wear this national costume inspired by the Gumamela, a flower that can be found all across the Philippines,” Katrina said.

“It may look delicate, but it blooms with resilience, strength, and beauty wherever it grows. Those are the same values that I am carrying as I represent our country on the Miss Supranational stage,” she added.

The piece by Filipino fashion designer Mich Viray featured a voluminous coral-pink gown composed of layered petals with scalloped edges, giving the illusion of a flower in full bloom.

The design was paired with a gold headpiece adorned with dangling metallic strands, while a large arrangement of matching coral petals formed a striking halo behind Katrina's head.

“Huge thanks to Mich Viray for bringing this vision to life and allowing me to proudly showcase a piece of Filipino identity to the world,” she wrote.

The Miss Supranational 2026 competition is set for July 31.

Katrina will vie for the Philippines’ second Miss Supranational crown, following Mutya Datul’s victory in 2013, the country's first and only win in the international pageant to date. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
