PHL places 8th in ‘Best in Travel 2015’ list by Lonely Planet
The Philippines ranked eighth in the yearly "Best in Travel - Countries" list by travel magazine and website Lonely Planet.
GMA News TV's News To Go on Friday showed clips exhibiting the Philippines' world-class attractions, including gorgeous natural attractions and events Lonely Planet chose the country for.
Describing the Philippines' placement as "well overdue," Lonely Planet praised the country's coral reefs, coastlines, and "sunbathe-ready white sand."

It also noted the Philippines' love of street parades, food festivals, and live musical events, which gave the country a "cabaret atmosphere" almost every night.
Lonely Planet cited the country's breakneck jeepney rides and love of fads and the supernatural as experiences tourists must have in the tropical country.
Other countries in the "Best in Travel" list include:
1. Singapore
2. Namibia
3. Lithuania
4. Nicaragua
5. Ireland
6. Republic of Congo
7. Serbia
9. St. Lucia
10. Morocco
Lonely Planet noted the Visit the Philippines Year (VPY) campaign by the Department of Tourism in 2015, a new promotion meant to refresh its "It's More Fun in the Philippines" campaign.
