Pantal River cruise a growing attraction in Dagupan

A newly launched river cruise is attracting visitors, including balikbayans, to Pangasinan.

The cruise on the Pantal River is also a boon to former fishermen and banca operators, GMA Dagupan reported on GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon."

"Maraming tulong ito kasi maraming sumasakay, mga balikbayan," said Marlon Hiteroza, who is in charge of the operation.

For now, the cruise uses three bancas that can accommodate up to 20 passengers each.

Passengers may pay P50, while students and senior citizens can avail of a discounted rate of P20.

Each tour may take one to two hours, with passengers seeing attractions like the sand bar.

Operators also assured the passengers' safety with trained crew and life vests for passengers.

More importantly, the cruise helps the livelihood of former fishermen and banca rowers.

"Nakakatulong ako sa aking pamilya," said former bangkero Michael Parayno. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
