Deals and discounts at this weekend’s PTAA Travel Tour Expo

This page will be updated as more information arrives; please refresh throughout Friday.

Grab your credit cards and your friends and head to the Philippine Travel Agencies Association's (PTAA) Travel Tour Expo this weekend, because some of the best travel deals will be on offer.

This year's event will happen from February 5-7 and will feature at least 306 exhibitors at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

GMA News Online was able to gather some information about what's in store for visitors to the expo on the hunt for good deals.

Airasia

Philippines Airasia is offering to take you to its local destinations for as low as:

  • P899 - Kalibo and Cebu
  • P999 - Tagbilaran, Tacloban, and Puerto Princesa
  • P1,299 - Davao

These deals are for immediate travel from February 6 to April 30, 2016, so you don't have to wait months before enjoying the deals.

They will even drop the prices further to as low as P699 for local destinations if you're traveling from May 3 to November 24, 2016.

Hong Kong is available for as low as P2,099, while Kuala Lumpur and Incheon are available at P2,799 and P2,999, respectively.

Astoria Hotels & Resorts

Astoria Boracay Station 1 is up for grabs for as low as P6,700 from its usual rate of P16,000, while its Station 3 property is going for as low as P4,500 from P8,900.

Astoria Palawan in Puerto Princesa is also being offered at P4,800 instead of 9,500, while its Bohol location is available for P5,400 from the original price of P12,000.

Jeju Air

Korea's Jeju Air is offering roundtrip airfare from Manila to Incheon for $243 all in. They also have package tours for as low as $659, while a Seoul and Tokyo tour is being offered for as low as $1599.

Baguio Burnham Suites

Those who prefer road trips will also find deals at the expo, with Baguio Burnham Suites offering rooms for P2,300. Booking is from March 1 to November 20, 2016.

Cebu Pacific
Cebu Pacific is offering flights from Manila to its other domestic destinations for as low as P684 pesos one way, while flights from Davao, Iloilo, and Zamboanga to neighboring cities in the Visayas and in Mindanao are up for grabs for as low as P499 one way. Flights from Cebu to other domestic destinations can also go for as low as P799.

Manila to Bali, Bangkok, Beijing, Brunei, Busan, Fukuoka, Guangzhou, Hanoi,
Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Incheon, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Phuket, Shanghai, Siem Reap, Singapore, Taipei or Xiamen can be booked for P1,999 each way, while Manila to Guam, Nagoya, and Osaka are at P2,499. Manila to Tokyo is at P2,999, while flights to the Middle East for P4,999. Manila to Sydney, meanwhile, is at P5,999.

Do take note, though, that these deals are available online as well and are of limited quantity. Lowest prices are available for a handful of seats in each flight, so if you're booking for big groups, you might see different figures.

Skyjet
Local airline Skyjet is also offering deals to select destinations. They have Manila to Coron and Boracay for P988 each way and Manila to Batanes for P2,888 each way exclusive of taxes and fees. Their deals, however, are only available for the lean months (July to September) and are only for sale at the expo.

Overseas travel

The PTAA reports that over six million travelers visited the Philippines last year, raking in $5 billion in profits, but the event is banking on Filipino nationals' desire to travel abroad. This year, they will introduce an innovation by adding the InternationalTrade Expo (ITTE), a B2B travel trade mart devoted towards tapping the growing Philippine market for overseas travel.

Aside from airlines and hotels, international tourism organizations will also be present at the ITTE to promote their countries. Guam Visitors Bureau, Japan National Tourism Organization, the Korean Tourism Organization, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the South African Embassy, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tourism Malaysia, the tourism office of the Turkish Embassy, and Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism will be around to showcase their country's best. — BM/APG, GMA News

The PTAA Travel Tour Expo will be held at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City from February 5 to 7.
