Boracay the beautiful before it opens to the public
World-famous Boracay will open to the public on October 26 after a six-month closure to accommodate a much-needed rehabilitation.
And though it will be something of a soft opening, as Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said in August, authorities thought it best to open the island for a dry run starting tomorrow, October 15.
GMA reporter Joseph Morong tweeted on Sunday a video of the world-famous island on the day before its partial opening.
“Enjoy[ing] a quiet Sunday afternoon in Boracay before it opens its doors for a dry run tomorrow,” Morong captioned his video, which showed a clean and calm Boracay, its blue waters perfectly reflecting the sun’s glistening rays, with a wide expanse of uninterrupted white sand.
