Inside the only PHL resort included in Conde Nast Traveler’s Best Resorts in the World

Everybody, meet El Nido Resorts’ Pangulasian Island, the only Philippine resort included in this year’s list of Best Resorts in the World by the prestigious Conde Naste Traveler, sitting comfortably in the 29th spot.

The most luxurious of the four El Nido Resorts in northern Palawan, Pangulasian isn’t a stranger to these accolades, having been included in CNT's List of Top Resorts in Asia this year, in the same CNT reader survey the past three years, as well as Conde Nast’s Gold List.

So what is it about Pangulasian? According to CNT, “your luxurious hideaway is a launchpad to the island biosphere gloriously featured in The Bourne Legacy.”

It boasts of 20 dive sites and reefs for snorkeling, offers mangrove tours, is about 15 minutes away from the famous Snake Island, about 30 minutes away from the Big and Small Lagoons, and has 25 kayaks for guests’ pleasure — not to mention the 42 glorious villas spread across the “Island of the Sun.”

There are four types of villas all built with contemporary Filipino and ‘green’ designs: Canopy, Beach, Pool, and Kalaw, with the Canopy as the most affordable at P45,500 a night.

In front of the resort is a 750-meter stretch of white sand beach, and behind it, lush a tropical forest. There is a beach bar, a clubhouse restaurant, offers picnics and private island dining, as well as a spa.
