13 PHL hotels make it to Forbes Travel Guide’s 2019 Star Awards

Thirteen Philippine properties made it to this year’s Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards, up by two from last year's count.

Of the 13 Philippine hotels, four were given a five-star rating, the highest rating the prestigious travel guide gives.

Joining Marco Polo Ortigas and Sky Tower at Solaire, which maintained their five-star ratings from last year, are The Peninsula Manila and Nuwa Manila, the latter having been included to Forbes' ‘most luxurious’ list of 2018.

According to Forbes, "properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities" are awarded with a five-star rating.

Of the Peninsula Manila, Forbes highlighted it service — “from airport pick-ups in the hotel’s fleet of Mercedes-Benz S-Class vehicles to 24-hour room service and personzlied amenities” — its spa, its tropical gardens, and of course its location.

Of Nuwa Manila meanwhile, Forbes focused on its “rooms, suites and villas, lavishly designed to provide maximum comfort and convenience with a touch of Filipino warmth.”

Meanwhile, six hotels were given four-star ratings, while three were recommended.

This year’s awards “is the biggest and most diverse group of honorees yet” as the award-giving body expanded to new destinations, including Istanbul, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Tel Aviv, Belize, and Urugay, just to name a few.

There were 1694 properties surveyed with 343 properties earning the five-star rating and 903, the four-star rating and 448 as recommended.
