This dog is a faithful tour guide for visitors who want to see the Batad Rice Terraces in Ifugao
Dogs are widely known as man's best friends, but one dog in Ifugao are taking it a step further.
Rambo, an aspin, is known in Barangay Batad, Banaue for touring visitors to see the iconic Batad Rice Terraces — one of the five Ifugao rice terraces that was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
The ten-year-old aspin was featured in an iJuander report on Saturday.
In the video, Rambo is seen leading photographer and vlogger VJ Catacutan through winding walkways on the slope of mountains and narrow bridges to see the Batad Rice Terrace.
The dog is also seen patiently waiting for Catacutan to catch up with it, while leading the way to the terraces.
"Actually, surprisingly, sobrang bait ni Rambo. Kasi parang hindi ka niya uunahan talaga. Talagang hihintayin ka niya," Catacutan said.
After an hour, Catacutan and his travel companion reached their destination, where they could view the terraces in their splendor.
Rambo's penchant for touring visitors comes from his owners' inclination to tourism. According to one of his owners, Jacquiline Bastian, he loved to join them on their tours when he was still a little pup.
"Kung meron siyang nakikitang guest na naglalakad papunta dito sa Batad, sinasabayan niya," Bastian said, noting Rambo's enthusiasm for being a tour guide.
For those who wish to be accompanied by Rambo to view the terraces, they can find him at the drop-off point or 'Ramon's Homestay' where the faithful travel companion resides.
Tours with Rambo are free, and visitors are only required to pay for his food.
