San Juan City to launch historical bike tour in January 2021

San Juan City is set to launch its official historical bike tour in January 2021.

According to Vonne Aquino’s report on “24 Oras” Wednesday, the bike tour includes several historical places, such as the Museo el Deposito, where underground reservoirs built by the Spaniards in 1880 are located, and Museo ng Katipunan, where interactive displays and Katipunan’s original artifacts may be found.

“Gusto ko talaga makilala ang San Juan as a historical destination,” said San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.

“I believe San Juan is quite underrated in terms of historical significance kaya bilang mayor gusto ko pong mabuksan ang isipan ng kapwa Pilipino na dito sa San Juan talagang tunay na malalim ang kasaysayan.”

Apart from the museums, also included in the tour is St. John the Baptist Parish or the Pinaglabanan Church, which was built in the 19th century, among many other historical destinations.

According to the city government, they will coordinate with the Department of Tourism and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) in making the guidelines for the official launch of the historical bike tour. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
