Tourists enjoy cold weather in Tanay campsites, restaurants
Tourists have been traveling to Tanay, Rizal in recent days to feel and enjoy the cold temperatures, accompanied by its breathtaking scenery.
In Ian Cruz's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, a couple shared that they chose the Rizal town as the place to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.
Kim and Mark Romualdo visited the restaurant "In the Sky" because of its view.
"Malamig po kasi, good weather, tsaka taga Cavite kasi kami, so maiba naman," Kim said.
"Because of the scenery na rin. Maganda kasi 'yung scenery tapos good weather, so perfect for staycation," Mark said.
Even Letty Booth, who just came home to the country from England, was also amazed by Tanay's beauty.
"Heaven," she said. "Maganda lahat. Tumingin ka ng left tumingin ka ng right, nature."
Coffee lovers have also flocked to a coffee shop in the area, which offers drinks for customers at any time of the day, while others set up their gear at a campsite where visitors may enjoy the cold surroundings overnight.
"Dito, kapag 'di siya mahangin, sa umaga, makikita mo d'yan, sea of clouds. Para kang nasa ibabaw ng ulap," Dan Pangilinan said.
Dan and his family have been at the campsite for ten days already.
"Usually sir, ang degrees is 21-19. Kailangan mo talagang mag-doble minsan ng jacket talagang malamig," Viewscape Nature Park Operations Manager Emerson Dela Peña said.
The Amihan season brings cold weather in the Philippines. On Thursday, Metro Manila has experienced its lowest recorded temperature this year.
