Filipinos savor last days of cool Amihan weather in Tagaytay, other cities
Filipinos are making the most of "aircon weather" or the final days of Amihan season.
As seen in Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras," the cool weather in various cities are attracting tourists before hotter days arrive.
In Tagaytay City, a Bulacan zumba group visited to experience the breeze.
In the nearby town of Silang, Cavite, a Korean temple is perfect for picnics, picture-taking, and meditation. Entrance is also free.
"Touchdown Korea nga 'yung sinasabi ng mga tao," Lumbini Institute of Cavite Principal Arjay Viray said. "Kung gusto mo 'yung lamig, pero at the same time gusto mo 'yung katahimikan, this is the perfect place para bisitahin."
Senior citizens from Cabuyao, Laguna also dressed in hanbok or the Korean traditional dress.
"That experience, kunyari nasa Korea kami," Emy Laro said.
Ding Belarmino's group also practiced Stations of the Cross in the area to make the most of the weather.
Meanwhile, it has gotten colder in Baguio City. Students from Benguet State University wear jackets both inside and outside the classroom.
According to PAGASA, Baguio City reached 12.4 degrees Celsius.
It is colder in La Trinidad, Benguet, which reached 9.8 degrees Celsius before 8 a.m.
The strong Amihan winds were also experienced in Casiguran, Aurora, where the temperature reached 19.8 degrees Celsius.
According to Chris Perez, Assistant Weather Services Chief of PAGASA, Amihan will likely end in the last week of March.
"Normally naman kung titingnan po natin 'yung mga historical data natin, ang Amihan po is either month of February or month of March na-te-terminate," he said. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA Integrated News
