LTFRB revokes authority of 2 TNCs over regulatory violations
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has revoked the authority to operate and the renewal applications for two Transport Network Companies (TNCs) due to regulation violations.
The LTFRB said that an investigation confirmed that the two TNCs – Leggo Information Technology Solutions and Aztech Solutions International Corp. – had ceased operations and failed to provide valid explanations or comply with regulatory conditions.
GMA News Online is trying to get comments from Leggo and Aztech and will publish it as soon as it is available.
“The granting of the Certificate of Accreditation comes with a responsibility, an obligation and a commitment to provide the best services to the commuting public. That’s one of the conditions that must be strictly followed," said LTFRB acting chairperson Greg Pua Jr. in a statement.
“When rules are violated, that’s when accountability begins, like in the case of these two TNCs,” he added.
The LTFRB initially canceled and revoked the Certificate of Accreditation for both TNCs after they failed to justify the administrative issues raised against them.
Prior to ceasing their operations, Leggo Information Technology was one of the three ride-hailing firms ordered suspended for a year by the LTFRB last February due to their failure to respond to the show-cause order issued against them for the absence of active and internet-based digital technology for their partners and clients.
Meanwhile, Aztech Solutions International Corp. was the operator of the now-defunct Snappy ride hailing service.
“PUV operation is a tough competition. There are operators who are more responsible and are ready to provide the kind of public transportation services that the Filipino people deserve,” said Pua.
The LTFRB earlier opened 8,750 slots for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and Bicol Region, with huge shares allotted for electric vehicles (EVs). –NB, GMA News
