Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, attorney Manases Carpio, posted a P39-million combined ending balance from several bank accounts under their names in 2025, bank representatives said Wednesday.

The bank officials who made the testimony covering the years 2022 to 2025 were from the following financial institutions:

  • Landbank of the Philippines (LandBank)
  • AUB (Asia United Bank)
  • PSBank
  • Metrobank
  • Security Bank
  • BPI (Bank of the Philippine Islands)
  • PNB (Philippine National Bank) and
  • BDO (Banco de Oro)

The combined ending balance in these bank accounts of the Vice President and her husband in 2022, the first year of the Duterte's term as Vice President, was P59.02 million.

This was followed by a combined ending balance in these accounts in 2023 of P71.38 million.

The combined ending balance for the couple in 2024 was P22.24 million.

The combined ending balance for the couple in 2025 was P39.09 million.

During the offer of evidence for the bank records and officials, private prosecutor James Alih told the Senate impeachment court that the prosecution witnesses from the banks seek to prove, among others, that the Vice President and her husband maintained 30 active bank accounts within 2022 to 2025 with a total combined ending balance of P190 million as of the end of 2025.

Karen Batu, officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Records Division of the Office of the Ombudsman, earlier testified that Duterte did not declare any cash in bank or cash on hand in her joint Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) filing with Carpio from 2019 to 2025.

The witnesses from the banks were presented by the prosecution to prove Article 2 of the impeachment case against the Vice President amassed unexplained wealth due to alleged failure to truthfully disclose assets in her SALN and failure to divest in businesses as required for the President and Vice President under a Constitutional provision.

After the presentation of bank witnesses, defense counsel Sheila Sison moved to identify these bank accounts as "alleged" bank accounts of the Vice President pending the presentation of evidence of the defense.

House prosecutor Terry Ridon of Bicol Saro party-list, for his part, said he could only wish that such amounts of assets are available to anybody.

“Sana all, paldo,” Ridon, who is one of the lead prosecutors of Article 2, said.
