Jollibee to add 225 stores as part of P5.8-B capex program

Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) disclosed Thursday that it has set aside P5.8 billion for its 2012 capital investment program and earmarked half of this budget “to increase its store count by 125 stores in the Philippines and 100 stores in China.”   Atty. Agatha Olga de Jesus, JFC corporate legal counsel, made the revelation on the food giant’s expansion plans in a filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). At the end of trading hours Thursday at the PSE, JFC closed at P117 per share. For all of 2011, JFC had system-wide sales of P82.17 billion and net income of P3.25 billion. "Sales in the Philippines grew by 17.8 percent while those abroad increased by 19 percent led by China with a growth of 27.5 percent and Southeast Asia and the Middle East with 23.3 percent," the listed firm said in February when it released its 2011 operations results. In 2011, JFC opened 260 new stores to bring its store network to 2,469 stores worldwide.
