Wendy’s renews master franchise, to add 10 stores in VisMin


The local unit of Wendy’s International revealed Thursday that it has renewed its master franchise with the US-based fast food giant and will expand to the Visayas and Mindanao with up to 10 stores.   "Expansion was on hold until we renewed the contract. Last year, we were not able to put new stores,” said Wendy's Phils chairman Elizabeth Pardo-Orbeta.   Wendy’s is preparing to reopen its Cebu store. To follow soon are the new stores in key urban areas in Visayas and Mindanao including Davao and General Santos City.   Pardo-Orbeta said but we are now working on adding as much as ten more (stores) in 2012,"   She said Wendy's Philippines projects its 2012 full-year sales to surpass P1 billion while its network of stores expands from the current 33 in Metro Manila and immediate environs.   Pardo-Orbeta disclosed these developments at the media briefing for Franchise Asia Philippines (FAP) 2012 trade exhibition scheduled on July 25 and 26 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. — ELR, GMA News
